Ouch! That had to hurt.

What do you get when you combine seven boys, one garbage can and a afternoon of "nothing to do?".......

Trouble.

So, Sunday night we're enjoying a wonderful dinner with friends and the kids are having fun out back. Yes, I saw what they were doing in the garbage can but it was a small one not a huge one so, what could happen? Well, apparently a broken arm can happen. It was Kole's turn in the can and when they set it up, it fell over and he caught himself with his right hand and ....well, I'm sure we all know how that goes. We (and by we i mean Jim) weren't sure it was broken so decided to wait till morning to see how it felt. In the morning it was still pretty sore and a little swollen so off to urgent care we went. They put it in the splint and gave strict instruction not to do anything "rough" with it. Kole was fine with the whole thing at first and tried to convince me that quad ridding was not "rough" and that the splint was good because he had just enough mobility in his thumb to push the gas on it. You see, this weekend is our semi-annual "Conference Camping" trip. The Doctor let him know with no uncertain terms that quad ridding did fall under the rough category. He's not so happy about that. He was happy though that he a) had no school for a day. b) got a frosty from Wendy's (healing agents, you know.) and c) his sisters chipped in and did his chores for him. We are off to see the Orthopaedic Surgeon tomorrow to see how they will cast it. We'll keep you posted.

Glad you were able to talk him out of McDonalds and into Wendy's. Much better choice Kole.
