Me, I got to stick my hand and most of my arm into this fuel tank!
yep. right into that hole in the middle.
was it full of gas? of COURSE. Why would you want to stick your arm into a fuel tank if it was empty? Where's the fun in that? And if it was empty, I wouldn't have the fun of walking around smelling like a mechanic all day!
yes, i smell. all day. still.
gas is not an easy smell to get rid of. no matter how many times you wash and no matter how many bath and body soaps you use and no matter how much lotion you apply. or perfume. you think you have it gone but...an hour later...its back.
I am VERY grateful for a husband who has to do this kind of stuff everyday and never complains. (even though I sometimes do. about the smell.)

Oh, why did I do this? well, Jim had to change out the fuel pump on the Suburban and he dropped a magnet thing into it on accident. And I needed to find and remove the "float" that is in there. The float is what reads how much gas you have. - there's your auto 101 lesson.
oh...i did NOT find and remove either of those. So to top it off, I smell for nothing!
